Welcome to Fresh Producers
Finally a HEALTHY fundraising alternative for your schools, congregations, clubs, and organizations!
As people are becoming increasingly aware and educated about food and the role it plays in our desire to lead a well-balanced and active lifestyle, Fresh Producers offers a healthy fundraising alternative, utilizing produce and youth entrepreneurial spirit! With over 150,000 servings delivered in the last year, local organizations are already learning there is an alternative to wrapping paper and cookie dough that can help you fundraise all year long.
We also help lower income families save for higher education just by eating well, and we deposit a percentage of every sale into a scholarship fund for all youth participants. Young people gain professional experience, opportunities to earn income, and financial literacy.
Are you ready to become a Fresh Producer for your organization or school?
Fresh Producers students at Hiram Johnson High School (HJHS)have been busy! As of winter 2012, they are now selling produce parcels to Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) staff who work at the Serna Center, as well as to their teachers and families. Each parcel they sell earns them $4.00 for their savings accounts!
Hiram Johnson’s event, Kings Family Fun Night, held in late February 2012, featured a Fresh Producers booth. Three HJHS students helped staff the booth, assembling bags of home-made trail mix and a Cutie tangerine. Everyone who stopped by the booth and did 10 jumping jacks received the healthy snack as well as a stamp on their health passport, enabling them to have their names in a drawing for prizes supplied by Building Healthy Communities and the Sacramento Kings.
You can see photos of these students, as well as students at our other SCUSD sites, in their classrooms cooking and learning about healthy food and active lifestyles, by going to our Facebook page.
